This February, Laila El-Haddad, a talented Palestinian blogger, author, journalist and mother of two, will make her way across the west coast speaking to audiences about her new book, “Gaza Mom: Palestine, Politics, Parenting, and Everything In Between”. Ms. El-Haddad will make visits to organizations and universities from Los Angeles to Seattle. In addition to penning an award winning blog Gazamom.com, Laila El-Haddad is a regular contributor to the BBC and Guardian Unlimited. Her new book “Gaza Mom” brings together her best writings from 2004 through 2010. Her eloquent words put a story and a face to the situation of Palestinians, a topic to which she brings her characteristic wry humor and introspective humanity.
”Through the pulse of the people in a besieged ghetto, and through her voice as a young Palestinian woman navigating the delicate trenches of motherhood, Laila el-Haddad’s writing illuminates Gaza’s inextinguishable culture of struggle and determination for a better world.” –Nora Barrows-Friedman, Electronic Intifada
